Your Farmer

History of Wild Fox Farm

In the winter of 2010, Ben and Karah Davies moved from Colorado back home to Pennsylvania. They immediately began marketing and making plans for Schlegel Run Growers, a suburban produce farm situated in the hills of Barto, PA. That spring, the small vegetable CSA took flight.

Schlegel Run Growers transitioned to Wild Fox Farm in late 2012 when Ben and Karah bought 41 acres in Pennsylvania's beautiful Butter Valley. The Davies' are honored to become stewards of this land and join in the Butter Valley's rich agricultural heritage. Wild Fox Farm is the culmination of Ben and Karah's dream to live close to family, work from home, and produce beautiful and nutritious food for their immediate community.

More recently, Ben and Karah have been joined by Nadine Davies (leading microgreens and salad production), Sarah Metzler, and Collin Row. Wild Fox Farm now works with over 6 restaurants in the Lehigh Valley Area, Sells at the Emmaus Farmers Market and has branched out into production of pastured eggs, pastured, chicken, pastured pork, and grass-fed lamb.

What is a CSA?

Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) is a farming model in which community members pledge support to the farm at the beginning of the season. In return, they pick up a share of the harvest every week. The growers and members provide mutual support in their food production and both partners share in the risks and rewards of small-scale farming (e.g. weather, disease, pests vs. fresh, nutritious and bountiful veggies). CSA restores the lost connection between people and agriculture by providing an opportunity for members to be directly connected to how their food is grown.
